Night Cadet is a dream pop quartet that formed in June of 2012. Songwriter/keyboardist Seth Garrison and violist/composer Barret Anspach met in NYC, where they both played (and still play) in The Fancy, an NYC-based chamber pop group. After relocating to Seattle in early 2012, Seth became reacquainted with an old friend, guitarist/keyboardist Garrett Vance, who had played in Secret Shoppers and an early incarnation of Perfume Genius. United with a common affinity for orchestral pop music, torch songs, and 1950's slow dance tunes, the band was hatched. Drummer Spencer Bray completed the group by their second show in late July.

Since then, Night Cadet has shared the stage with Avi Buffalo, Indians, Seapony, Pure Bathing Culture, Jinkx Monsoon and Magic Mouth. In December, they recorded an eponymous EP with local producer Erik Blood which was released in February 2013.

Review of Seaside on Towleroad
"...[Night Cadet] songs are vast—heart-wrenching vocals soar over lush string arrangements and glimmering guitar—with enough passion to carry you through the joy of falling in love and the pain of breaking up. Two-song 7-inch Valley/Seaside will be released next month, and it is gorgeous: 'Valley' gallops with swelling emotion while 'Seaside' radiates a woozy, lovesick euphoria." Emily Nokes + Bree McKenna , The Stranger
"Fans of Grizzly Bear, Perfume Genius, and Beach House should certainly take note of this very pretty act." Kelly O, The Stranger
"I am very bullish on the future of Night Cadet and am glad I got the chance to catch their early set Friday afternoon. If things get crazy in the next year or two, don’t say I didn’t warn you." Chris Burlingame, Another Rainy Saturday
"The band was spectacular live, so pretty and sparkly, with graceful vocal harmonies informed by singer Seth Garrison and violinist Barret Anspach’s chamber pop background. " Seattle Peach
